RPD Leadership Academy

Beginning second semester, the Raleigh Police Department will sponsor the RPD Leadership Academy program.

Fourteen Longview students will be selected for the program, which will take place at the police department training center over a five-week period. Students will spend one 5-hour day at the center during each week.

Participants will learn basic community leadership skills, philosopy and ethics.

Congratulations to Mr. Faulkner's horticulture classes! Longview's landscape/garden exhibit at this year's North Carolina State Fair won third place in the "Primary Colors Garden" category. Millbrook HS placed first and Enloe HS placed second.

Longview's exhibit used multiple flowers and herbs to create a display based on the primary colors theme, including old favorites such as lavender, salvia, caladiums, basil, verbena, and pentas.

Kudos to the horticulture students for their hard work and creative design ideas.

Time for Longview's Annual Poinsettia Sale

Unlike other schools, Longview has no parent organization or booster club to help pay for supplemental instructional materials such as paper, books, computer software, and other materials. Our annual poinsettia sale is Longview's primary fund-raiser. Thank you for your continued support.
